Do the electric pylons look out of kilter?  Do they look not quite right? Do they look out of balance?  Yes, they appear to be unbalanced--like they will fall over.  Maybe it looks like the picture is crooked, that is until you look at the dam in the background.  Dams, of course, have to be level.  Christians may look out of kilter, unbalanced, or just not quite right to the world.  That's because Christians have a different perspective on the things of life.  The focus of the Christian is on his Savior, Jesus Christ, the eternal life awaiting him, and his responsibility to live a life different from the world as an example of the Good News.  The dam for us, our Father God, is always level, is always firm, and will always stand.  He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.  He, unlike the vicissitudes of this world, never changes, and we are to grow to be like Him, and as we do, we begin to look more out of kilter to the world every day.

"And be ye not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  (KJV)
