This may not be the most striking photograph, but it does make a point.  This tree is obviously old and has seen better days, but it still shows green on many branches.  It is still figuratively bearing fruit.  It may not be as straight and bright green on all of its branches as it was at an earlier age.  It shows scars of growth and scars of battles fought and won.  Guess what!  The same can be said for me.  I may not be as straight upright or seem as vital as I was at a younger age, but I would argue that in many ways I have more vitality now than I have ever had.  I am more alive in my Lord, and I believe I am doing more, producing more fruit than I have at any other time in my life.  God has blessed me with a deeper understanding of His Word and of my part in forwarding His Heavenly Kingdom than ever before.  Thank you, Lord, for your fathfulness to me, for being patient with me, and for continuing to teach me and hear me.  I thank you most of all for your saving mercy and grace, and I am greatly gratified to know that I am doing your will.  (Old age is not for the faint of heart.)

Psalm 92:14

Fruitful in Old Age

"Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green." (NLT)
