The Joy of Sunrise
These pillars just outside Bryce National Park look like they may be ready to frolic with the brightness of sunrise. The initial burst of the sun's rays makes them appear much brighter than they do at any other time of the day. The same may well be true of us. When we first are brightened by the forgiveness of Jesus in our lives, we are excited and eager to march onward toward the final victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Later, as we live with His forgiveness as a daily reality, we seem to lose the initial bright bloom of His Grace. In the brightness of noon-day, as we move farther from that initial burst of light, we may focus more on the tasks of the day. It is always good to take time each day to remember and revive that first full burst of love we felt in gratitude to our Lord Jesus.
"But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out an frolic like well-fed calves." (NIV)
