"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (KJV)
It's amazing how much time passed as we sat in the shade (well, moving the chair once in a while) in a picnic ground on Mt. Lemmon outside Tucson. The temperature in town was about 104, and since we didn't go up high, about 6000 feet, it didn't get too cool. During the heat of the day the temperature got to about 80.
The wind blew through the trees, a few birds hopped around, and we ate lunch. Probably eight different cars pulled into the parking area, and some stayed as long as thirty minutes. Some cars drove by on the road a hundred yards away, and one plane, loud enough to hear, flew over.
I took a book, my Bible, a writing pad, and a pen. Didn't use any of them. Who was the great Christian who said, "Preach a sermon every day; when necessary, use words.?" I didn't preach any sermon that day, but God did. He ministered to me greatly without uttering a word. He spoke very eloquently through the trees, the bright white clouds, and the blue sky. I was surrounded by numerous objects of His creation. Some of the trees had needles, some had leaves. The ground was soft underfoot because of the carpet of pine needles.
We were there about five hours, and the time passed leisurely and pleasantly. God ministered a great deal of peace to me that day. i was grateful for His presence. John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with; you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you." (KJV) I experienced that peace that day. I pray that you have an opportunity to have a similar God Peace experience soon.
