This bridge was built for walkers and cyclers to cross over the Youghiogheny River. It is there for everyone to use. It is there all the time whether it is being used or not. The same can be said of the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins. The sacrifice was made once for all time. There is no need for Jesus to go through that again. He made the sacrifice for everyone whether we use it or not. The sacrifice has been made; the price has been paid. It is up to us to decide to make use of it or not. It is a decision everyone must make. Any decision other than, "Yes, Lord, I accept," results in eternal hell. There is one big difference between the bridge that is always there and the sacrifice of Jesus that is always there. Someone built the bridge; the bridge did not build itself; but Jesus made the sacrifice Himself. Hallmark cards had a catch phrase, "When you care enough to send the very best." God sent His very best, Jesus, and Jesus gave His very best, His life. He has already paid the price. It costs you nothing to accept His sacrifice, so I suggest, no, I implore you to accept Jesus' sacrifice. It will be worth it for eternity, and that's a LONG time.
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep" (NLT).
