I identify with the tree pictured above. Like the tree, I have lived many years, and I have branched out in many different directions. This tree is watered and fed by the stream flowing by it, and I am watered and fed by the living water that comes from my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my hope and confidence. Through the years He has sustained me through the various directions I have taken. He has never forsaken me. He has always been there to strengthen and guide me, even through the darker times caused by my mistakes. If you look closely at this old tree, you will see that there are new branches and twigs with new leaves on them. I believe I am like this tree. The living water provided by Jesus gives me the opportunity and privilege to continue to produce new and useful fruit for His Kingdom. Thanks be to you, Jesus!
Trees Fed by the Living Water
"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." (NLT)
