Isaiah 30: 21

"Your own ears will hear him.  Right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go,' whether to the right or to the left." (NLT)

The Way We Should Go

These words were written to Judah, speaking the blessing that will occur once Judah returns to God.  God will direct His people when they spend time listening to Him.  He is there to provide direction, but only if they will listen and heed His words.  The same is certainly true for us.  The Holy Spirit is prepared, eager, and certainly capable of giving direction, but He will do it only when we ask, and the directions will be worthwhile only if we follow them.  Sometimes we ask, the Lord speaks, and we say, "Well that isn't what I think, so I'll do it my way."  Have you ever done that?  I have, and it hasn't worked out too well.  I do best when I allow the one in the canoe with me, the one who speaks to my spirit, to give me directions and to guide me.

Norma took this picture at Lake Louise in Canada several years ago, and it is one of the best photographs we took during that trip to Canada.  She has a good photographer's eye, and she helps to enrich our collection.
