The Holy Spirit Is Our Guide

"...asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God" (NLT).

Ephesians 1:17

The small building in the right center of the picture marks the end of personal car travel on the road into Denali.  Beyond that, travel is by bus or other National Park provided conveyance for the safety of the visitor,  The road is dirt, narrow, and winding, plus the driver or guide knows where to stop to see the best of Denali National Park animals.  In all, riding the bus makes for a more pleasurable experience.

Without the spiritual wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, we can't get to the depths of the experience of living in Christ.  In John, chapter thirteen, Jesus promises to ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit, "who leads into all truth."  The Spirit reminds us of the words Jesus spoke, and He helps us gain understanding of them.  Without His guidance we may be tempted to accept words that sound like what Jesus said but do not have His meaning, and there is great danger in that.  He helps us discern the truth given by our Father through His Son, Jesus.  Thank you, Father God, for sending the Holy Spirit.  May I always harken to his voice.
