Colossians 2:6-7

The trees certainly are beautiful, and their beauty starts in the roots through which they are fed.  The roots may not be beautiful in themselves, but they are certainly necessary.  Our root is beautiful as well as necessary and more importantly, ever-lasting.  So now that I have received Jesus Christ as Lord, I am "...rooted and built up in him...."  I'd say that's a very strong root, none stronger in the universe, a root that will always nourish and never fail.  It is the root of life as it was given at creation: "The the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being" Gen 2:7 (NIV).  We have been given life by the breath of God, Himself.  We are rooted in Him and it is good for us to make sure that our roots in Christ are showing so others can see Him through our lives.

Do My Roots Show?

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." (NIV)
