"Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth" (NLT).
Grandeur and Beauty
The words "beauty" and "grandeur" are not in the verse quoted above, but they are ever present in His creation. There was an order to creation, light before water, water before land, land before plants, plants before animals. After all the beauty and grandeur of the creation to this point, He said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..." Genesis 1:26 (NIV). He made mankind in His image. And then He breathed His breath, the very breath of God, into man, and He saw that it was "very good." After He created mankind, God rested on the seventh day, and He expects us to honor that day of rest. Yes, God created great beauty and grandeur in all He created on earth, but He reserved the words, "It was very good" until after He created mankind. He seemed to be most pleased with the creation of us, His children, and as our Father, He loves us. He recognizes our faults (sins), and He has provided a way, Jesus, for our sins to be forgiven so we can spend eternity with Him.
